SSC CGL 2018 Notification 

The SSC CGL 2018 official notification will
be published on April 21st, 2018 by the governing body. Keep yourself updated
through this page for more information. The SSC CGL 2018 Tier-I examination
was scheduled from 25th July to 20th August 2018. The result of SSC
CGL 2017 Tier 1
exam was released on 30th October 2017.
Tier-II  was held from 17th to 22nd February 2018 & re-exam of
Tier-II was held on 9th March 2018. Tier-III exam will be scheduled to be held
in May 2018. The skill test for selected students will be notified soon.

SSC CGL Recruitment 2018

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate
Level (CGL) Exam for the recruitment of Grade “B” and “C” category posts in
various Government Ministries, Departments, and Offices. The exam is held in 4
stages called Tiers. The first two are online, the third is descriptive in
nature and the fourth is DEST/CPT(Data Entry Speed Test)/(computer proficiency
test).DEST is for the post of Tax Assistant while CPT will be conducted for all
those candidates who have applied for CSS (Central Secretariat Services) and
MEA (Ministry of External Affairs).The entire process of registration and
communication happens online through the official website of SSC CGL.
Candidates must qualify each stage of the SSC CGL exam to proceed to the next
one, before being finally selected.

Before beginning the SSC CGL preparation, it is important to make note of exam
pattern and syllabus. SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2018 for Tier 1 & 2 are given
below:
  • SSC CGL 2018
    Tier 1 and Tier 2 exam will be conducted in online mode. 
  • The time
    duration of Tier-1 will be 60 minutes. 
  • Tier II will
    remain same. 
  • Tier-3 will be
    a descriptive paper of 100 marks within 60 minutes in pen and paper
    mode. 
  • No Sectional
    Cut off 
  • No Interviews:
    Interview component has been dispensed with. There will, therefore, be no
    interview
  • Skill Test: The Skill Test will be of qualifying

    The merit will be

    Only those candidates who secure at least the minimum qualifying marks in
    the written examination as may be fixed by the Commission at its

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern
This is CBE (computer based examination). There are 4 sections in the
Tier 1 exam of SSC CGL 2018, with 100 questions which account for a total of

SSC CGL Tier 3 Exam Pattern
This is a (DES)descriptive exam and is conducted offline. Candidates
need to write Essay/Letter/Application/Precis. This is to test the written
skills of the candidates in English/Hindi. The best way to prepare for the same
is to read lots of articles from various newspapers. Focus on the Intro. and
conclusion of the Essay. Apart from this, you need to be well aware of the
pattern of Letter and Application.
Important Points:
  • The time
    duration is 60 minutes and carries 100 marks.
  • The exam
    duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped or
    suffer from cerebral palsy.
SSC CGL Tier 4 Exam Pattern



The Tier 4 of SSC CGL Exam 2018 comprises DEST/CPT. These are required
for certain government posts.
1. DEST (Data Entry Speed Test): 
For the post of Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax).
Any Candidate who takes CPT does not require to appear for DEST as the
part 1 of CPT (Typing) will be considered for DEST evaluation.
Requirement: 8000 key
depression per hour, that is 2000 key depression per 15 minutes.
Relaxation: VH Candidates
will be allowed 20 minutes. 
2. CPT (Computer Proficiency Test):

    (Central Excise) [CBEC]

    (Preventive officer)[CBEC]

The Commission will provide the
Computer for the test. The Skill test in Computer Proficiency is a qualifying
test only. It will consist of three Modules in the following manner:
(I) Word Processing Test: 2000 Key Depressions
(II) Test in spread Sheets on Microsoft Excel: 15 Minutes
(III) Test in PowerPoint (Microsoft Power Point): 15 Minutes 
After the test of Module-I is over, the candidate will have to write in
his/her own handwriting one paragraph of about 50-60 words from the Data Entry
passage given to him/her on a separate sheet, then only the candidate will be
given the exercise sheet of Module-II. 
The candidate has to prepare spreadsheet as per the given exercise in
15 minutes and then save it with the filename as prescribed in the exercise
sheet. Printout of the saved files should be taken thereafter. 
After the test of Module II is over, the candidate will be given the
exercise sheet of Module III (PowerPoint) which has to be completed in 15
minutes. The candidate has to prepare presentation slides as per the exercise
given and then save it as instructed above as well as print the same.

Excise/ Examiner/Preventive Officer), Sub-Inspector in CBI (Central Bureau of

SSC CGL Online Application
The last date to apply online was 25th May 2018.
SSC CGL Application Fee
  • The required
    application fee is Rs. 100/- except female, SC, ST, Physically
    Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen candidates.
  • Applications
    fee should be paid only through SBI either in the form of challan or
    through SBI Net Banking or any other bank Credit/Debit Card. Challan form
    will be generated online.
  • To pay the fee
    in cash, the candidate should take printout of challan generated online
    after the completion of Part-1 registration. Deposit the requisite fee in
    any branch of SBI and then continue with the Part-2 registration.
  • Those
    candidates who want to pay online can go directly to part-2 registration
    after completion of part-1 registration. Candidate must fill registration
    number and date of birth to continue to Part-2 registration.
SSC CGL Admit
Card 2018
The admit card will be available after the release of the official
notification for SSC CGL 2018. Candidates are advised to keep checking this
page for updates.
Every candidate who registers for SSC CGL Exam 2018 within stipulated
time will be assigned an e-admit card/hall ticket/call letter that can be
downloaded from the official website of SSC. First, the admit card for the CGL
Tier-1 exam will be released first followed by the admit card of CGL Tier-2
exam (administered to only those candidates who qualify for Tier 1 exam).

SSC CGL Results 2018

Staff Selection
Commission (SSC) will release the results in four stages after completion of
each Tier Exam. The candidates selected in the rounds progress to the next one.
Candidates can check the result from the direct link to official SSC CGL
website as and when the results are announced.

SSC CGL Cut Off:

The Staff Selection Commission has successfully completed the conduct
of the Combined Graduate Level Examination (Tier-I)-2016 in Computer Based
Mode. The Examinations were conducted from 27.8.2016 to 11.9.2016, at Srinagar
on 25.9.2016, while the re-examination for candidates for the Second Shift
(Batch-II) on 27.8.2016 was conducted on 27.10.2016. Out of 38.04 lakh
registered candidates, approximately 14.82 lakh candidates in 44 Batches appeared
in 96 Cities across the country.

SSC CGL Answer Key 2018

The official answer key to the SSC CGL Tier-1 exam is released by Staff
Selection Commission within 10 to 15 days of the successful completion of
Tier-1 exam. Candidates can use the answer key to calculate their approximate

Before beginning the SSC CHSL preparation, it is important to make note
of changes in exam pattern and syllabus. The modifications to SSC CHSL Exam
Pattern 2017 which are applicable from 2016 are given below:

    a descriptive paper of 100 marks within 60 minutes in pen and paper mode.

Syllabus 2017

Since the SSC CHSL is comprised of 3 different levels, we must deal with
their syllabus independently.

SSC CHSL Tier-1 Syllabus

This is an objective exam which will be conducted online. There are 4
sections in the Tier 1 exam of SSC CHSL 2017, with 100 questions which account
for a total of 200 marks.

Important Points:
  • There is
    negative marking in SSC CHSL 2017 Tier 1 Exam. Giving a wrong answer to a
    question will lead to a penalty of 0.5 marks in all sections 
  • The exam
    duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped. 

SSC CHSL Tier-II Syllabus

This is a descriptive exam that is designed to test the written skills
of the candidates in English/Hindi. The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay
of 200-250 words and Letter/Application writing of approximately 150-200
words. The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 per cent. The
performance in Tier II would be included for preparing merit. The best way to
prepare for the same is to read lots of articles from various newspapers. Apart
from this, you need to be well aware of the pattern of Letter and Application.
Important Points:
  • The exam is of
    60 minutes duration and carries 100 marks. 
  • The exam
    duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped or
    suffer from cerebral palsy. 
  • The Paper would
    comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words.
  • The Paper would
    comprise writing of Letter /Application writing of approximately 150-200
    words. 
  • The minimum
    qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 per cent.

Tier-III Exam Syllabus

The Tier 3 of SSC CGL Exam 2017 comprises of a couple of skill tests
which are required for certain government posts.
Skill Test for Data Entry Operator(DEO):
Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depressions per hour on
Computer.
the duration of the Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes
Typing Test for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant LDCs and Court
Clerks:
  • Typing Test
    will be conducted in English or Hindi and candidates while applying for
    the Examination, will have to indicate his/her choice/option for Skill
    Test Medium in the Application Form. 
  • Typing Test
    will be of qualifying in nature. 
  • It will be
    administered on the Computer, to be provided by the Commission or any
    agency authorized by the Commission. 
  • Candidates
    opting for English medium should have typing speed of 35 words per
    minute. 
  • Candidates
    opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per
    minute. 
  • The speed will
    be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the Computer of a given text
    passage in 10 minutes. 
  • Visually
    Handicapped candidates (with 40% disability and above) will be allowed 30
    minutes

Eligibility Criteria

There are 3 important criteria which a candidate must fulfill in order
to be eligible for the SSC CHSL 2017. The 3 parameters are given below:
1. Citizenship: Candidate must be a citizen of India
2. Age Limit: There are different set of age limits for different posts
in SSC CHSL Exam 2017, which are tabulated below:

or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

Online Application

The online application for SSC CHSL 2017 exam will begin after the
release of the official notification. The last date to apply online is 27th
December 2017

Application Fee

The required application fee is Rs. 100/-
Exemption: No fee is required to be paid by female, SC, ST, Physically
Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen candidates
Applications fee should be pay only through SBI either in the form of
challan or through SBI Net Banking or any other bank Credit/Debit Card. Challan
form will be generated online
To pay fee in cash, candidate should take print out of challan
generated online after the completion of Part-1 registration. Deposit the
requisite fee in any branch of SBI and then continue with the Part-2
registration
Those candidates who want to pay online can go directly to part-2
registration after completion of part-1 registration. Candidate must supply
registration number and date of birth to continue to Part-2 registration

Admit Card 2017

Every candidate who registers for SSC CHSL Exam 2017 within stipulated
time will be assigned an e-admit card/hall ticket/call letter that can be
downloaded from the official website of SSC. The admit card for the CHSL Tier-1
exam will be released first followed by the admit card of CHSL Tier-2 exam
(administered to only those candidates who qualify for Tier 1 exam).

Medical Officer of the CAPFs or any other Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon

Candidates who are found to be unfit, will be informed of the position and they
can make an appeal before Review Medical Board within the prescribed time limit
of 15 days.
Decision of Re-Medical Board/Review Medical Board will be final and no appeal/
representation against the decision of the ReMedical Board/Review Medical Board
will be entertained.

Final
Selection / Merit : 

The merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the
candidates in the Written Examination and Physical Efficiency Test.

SSC MTS Recruitment 2017

The Staff Selection Commission is making recruitment to the posts of Multi-Tasking
Staff in Pay Band-1( 5200- 20200/-) + Grade Pay 1800/- (Revised Pay Scale after
7th CPC Pay Matrix Level).
The Commission have advertised recruitment to Group ‘C’ posts of Multi
Tasking Staff (MTS) (NT) in different States / UTs for which Matriculation or
equivalent is the minimum qualification.
The post of MTS (NT) was earlier known as Group-D posts such a Peon,
Daftary, Jamadar, Junior Gestetner Operator, Farash, Chowkidar, Mali etc.
Annexure-II to O.M. No. AB-14017/6/2009-Estt.(RR) of DOPT dated 30.04.2010,
available on the website of the DOPT may be referred for description of duties
of the post.
The written examination will consist of (Paper-I) objective type paper
and (Paper-II) descriptive type.
NOTE-I : Paper-I will
consist of Objective Type- Multiple choice questions only. The questions will
be set both in English & Hindi. The Commission reserves the right to set
the questions additionally in regional languages subject to technical
feasibility.
NOTE-II: There will be
negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are,
therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
NOTE-III: Paper-II will
be descriptive in which the candidate will be required to write short
essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the
Constitution.
NOTE-IV: Paper-II will
only be of qualifying nature and is intended to test elementary language skills
in view of recategorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job
requirements
NOTE-V: Paper-II will be
held only for such candidates who meet the cut-off prescribed by the Commission
in Paper-I for different categories. The date and time of the Paper will be
communicated to shortlisted candidates in due course. Commission reserves the right
to set separate qualifying standard in any Part of Paper-I.

SSC MTS
Exam Pattern

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the MTS every year for
various posts. 
The written exam will consist of two papers i.e.: As per the scheme of
the SSC MTS examination, there shall be two papers viz. Paper – I and Paper –
II.
Paper- I will be entirely objective while Paper- II will be descriptive
in nature. 
Paper – II will be comprised of a Short Essay/ Letter to be written in
English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.
Paper- II is simply qualifying in nature. It is intended to test the
elementary language skills of the candidates to be suitable for the post.
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the
examination will be required to appear for a descriptive type qualifying paper
for testing basic language skills. The date of descriptive paper will be
intimated in due course.

be set both in English & Hindi. The Commission reserves the right to set
the questions additionally in regional languages subject to technical
feasibility.
NOTE-II: There will be
negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are,
therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
NOTE-III: Paper-II will
be descriptive in which the candidate will be required to write short
essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the
Constitution.
NOTE-IV: Paper-II will
only be of qualifying nature and is intended to test elementary language skills
in view of recategorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job
requirements.
Paper-II: The Paper will
be set in English and Hindi and to the extent possible in other languages
mentioned in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution as given in Annexure-X, to
test basic language skills commensurate with the educational qualification
prescribed for the post. Candidates will be required to write one short
essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of
Constitution.

Eligibility Criteria

NATIONALITY / CITIZENSHIP:
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st
January,1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma,
Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of
Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and
Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e)
above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been
issued by the Government of India.
A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may
be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only
after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the
Government of India.
5(A) AGE LIMIT: 18-25 years as on 01.08.2017 (i.e. he/she must have
been born not earlier than 02.08.1992 and not later than 01.08.1999)

note that Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary
Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate available on the date of
submission of application will only be accepted by the Commission for
determining the Age- eligibility and no subsequent request for its change will
be considered or granted .

Candidate may note that only online applications will be accepted at:

All Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste,
Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for
reservation are exempted from paying application fee, as per extant government
orders.
7(i): The candidates who are not exempted from paying examination fee
may submit the requisite fee through State Bank of India only either in the
form of challan, generated on line, or through SBI Net Banking. Payment can
also be made through any Credit or Debit Card. 7(ii) Fee once paid will not be
refunded under any circumstance.


SSC MTS Admit Card 2017

Every candidate who registers for SSC MTS Exam 2017 within stipulated
time will be assigned an e-admit card/hall ticket/call letter that can be
downloaded from the official website of SSC. The admit card for the MTS Tier-1
exam has been issued. The exam was earlier scheduled to be held on the
following dates: 30/04/2017, 14/05/2017, 28/05/2017, 04/06/2017 and 11/06/2017
which was cancelled by SSC. SSC MTS Exam was held from 16th September to
31st October 2017.

    duration is 2 hours 40 minutes for candidates who are visually
    handicapped.
  • The questions
    except in Part III will be set both in English & Hindi.

Skill Test
in Stenography for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ 2017

Candidates who obtain the qualifying marks
in the Written Examination as may be prescribed by the Commission will only be
called for the Skill Test. It may also prescribe qualifying marks in each part
of the Written Examination.

The skill test will be of qualifying nature.The candidates will have to appear
for the stenography test. The candidates will be given one dictation
for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of
Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade
‘D’. 
The matter will have to be transcribed on computer only. The
evaluation of transcription will be done electronically only. The transcription
time is as follows:-

For Stenographer Grade ‘D’ : 

  • 50 minutes (
    English )
  • 65 minutes (
    Hindi )
For Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 
  • 40 minutes ( English )
  • 55 Minutes ( Hindi )

Important Points:
  • If the
    candidates do not indicate the medium of stenography test in the
    Application Form, the Commission will consider English as the medium of
    stenography test for such candidates.
  • There is no
    exemption from skill test for any category of candidates.
  • Candidates who
    opt to take the Stenography Test in Hindi will be required to learn
    English Stenography and vice versa after their appointment.
  • VH candidates
    will be required to transcribe the matter in 75 minutes for English
    Shorthand or in 100 minutes for Hindi Shorthand for the post of
    Stenographer Grade ‘D’ and in 70 minutes for English Shorthand test and in
    95 minutes for Hindi Shorthand test for the post of Stenographer Grade‘C’.
  • The skill test
    will be held at the Commission’s Regional/Sub Regional Offices or at other
    Centres as may be decided by the Commission.
  • Detailed
    instructions regarding Skill Test will be sent by the concerned
    Regional/Sub Regional Offices of the Commission to the candidates called
    for the Skill Test.

Since the SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’
is comprised of 2 different levels, we must deal with SSC Stenographer Syllabus
independently.

SSC
Stenographer Syllabus for written examination:

Tier 1
exam of SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ 2017

General Intelligence & Reasoning: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type.The test
will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space
visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual
memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical
reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series,
non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test
the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their
relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.

General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the
candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application
to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events
and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific
aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include
questions relating to India and its Neighboring countries especially pertaining
to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity
including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These questions
will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline. For VH
candidates of 40% and above visual disability /cerebral palsy affected
candidates and opting for scribe there will be no component of
Maps/Graphs/Diagrams/Statistical Data in the General Intelligence &
Reasoning / General Awareness Paper.

English Language & Comprehension: In addition to the testing of
candidates’ understanding of the English, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence
structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. his/her writing
ability, would also be tested.
