IBPS PO Notification 2019-20: Exam Pattern

IBPS PO exam is conducted in three stages: Prelims, Mains and Personal Interview. The IBPS PO Prelims and Mains exam are conducted in the online mode. The Preliminary exam is only to shortlist candidates for the Main exam. Final selection for provisional allotment will be made based on the candidates’ marks in Main and Personal Interview.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern For Prelims
The IBPS PO preliminary examination is of one hour duration and is conducted online. It has 3 sections with having 100 questions in total with a maximum score of 100 marks. There is negative marking in IBPS PO pre exam as 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates must clear the sectional cut-off to qualify for the IBPS PO Main exam. The section-wise details are given below:

The total time duration for IBPS PO Preliminary exam is 1 hour wherein each of the sections is separately timed.

The different sections and marking scheme of the IBPS PO Main exam as per the official IBPS PO Notification are tabulated below:

A)  Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 25 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).

B) Penalty for wrong answers: There will be negative marks (Prelim and Main Exams) for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

c) MARKS OBTAINED IN THE ONLINE MAIN EXAMINATION ONLY WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR SHORTLISTING FOR INTERVIEW AND ALSO FOR FINAL MERIT LISTING

D) Interview: Candidates who have been short listed in Main Examination will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations. Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the short listed candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters www.ibps.in

E) Interview Marks: The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview is 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of CWE ( Main Exam) and interview will be 80:20.
